New research from the University of Tasmania, sponsored by Medibank, found better health outcomes could be achieved for Australians with knee osteoarthritis through simple, cost-effective measures rather than invasive and sometimes debilitating surgery.

Private health insurance customers are forced by law to pay more for prostheses than public hospitals pay. This contributes to rising premiums and it's unfair to consumers. There is a better way to pay for prostheses to reduce pressure on premiums.
