As a precaution, Medibank will shut three stores in Sydney from close of business today, following an increase in COVID-19 cases.
Head of Retail Andrew Carlson said the focus needs to be on protecting the health and wellbeing of our people, customers and the wider community.
“We want to do our part to slow the spread of the virus particularly across Sydney’s eastern suburbs and the CBD,” he said.
“From close of business today, our stores at Bondi Junction, Haymarket and University of NSW will be shut.
“Unfortunately, closing our stores at this time is necessary while COVID-19 cases continue to climb.”
The team members who work at the three impacted stores will be redeployed across other customer support channels, including our phone and digital channels.
“I am proud of how our people continue to seamlessly transition from working in the store to working from home.
“We thank our customers for their patience, as we all work together to bring this COVID-19 outbreak under control.
“We look forward to welcoming our customers back in store when it’s safe to do so,” Mr Carlson said.
Customers needing support can find a range of resources at medibank.com.au, in their My Medibank app, or access agent support through web messaging or by calling 132 331.
Customers can also visit the website or My Medibank app to check their local store hours.
