Update: 3 June 2021 - Medibank will reopen it's regional Victorian stores tomorrow following the Victorian Government's announcement of the easing of restrictions.
The Victorian Government’s announcement of a 7-day stay-at-home order will see the temporary closure of Medibank’s Victorian stores from close of business today.
Head of Retail Andrew Carlson said it’s important we all do our part by following Government restrictions, so we can get on top of this COVID-19 outbreak quickly.
“The increase in cases in Melbourne is very disappointing for everyone. We know how much our customers enjoy the option of speaking to us face to face,” he said.
“Closing our stores is necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of our people, our customers and the communities we are part of.
The team members who work at the impacted stores will be redeployed across other customer support channels, including our phone and digital channels.
“Our people have showed incredible resilience in doing what we’ve asked of them over the past 12 months and seamlessly transitioning from working in-store to working from home.
“We continue to be proud of how they have represented Medibank and helped our customers navigate through this challenging time.”
“We thank our customers for their patience, as we all work together to bring this latest COVID-19 outbreak under control,” Mr Carlson said.
