Medibank Pet Insurance is providing all existing customers directly impacted by the floods in New South Wales and Queensland with extended emergency boarding cover for their pets, no matter their policy type.
For insured cats and dogs that don’t have access to accommodation or have been displaced or evacuated due to the floods and require emergency boarding, we will cover the cost of that emergency boarding.
Medibank Chief Customer Officer David Koczkar said given the gravity of the situation, we want to ensure pets have a safe place to stay.
“We know how much Australians love and care for their pets which is why we want them to have a safe place to stay at this difficult time,” he said.
“We are thinking of all those across NSW and Qld that have been impacted by the flood emergency and encourage them to speak to us if they need support.”
The extended Emergency boarding cover will only be available for emergency boarding costs that are incurred on or before 26 April 2021.

Customers should submit their claim as normal with ‘flood-related’ in the notes section, and we’ll take care of the claim provided the emergency boarding resulted directly from the recent NSW/QLD floods.
