Medibank and ahm members will be covered for treatment at the new Wollongong Private Hospital when it opens in January 2016, following an agreement between Medibank and Ramsay Health Care to include the hospital as a Medibank Members’ Choice provider.
Ramsay’s Operations Manager for Regional NSW Hospitals, Malcolm Passmore said: “we will be very pleased to welcome Medibank and ahm members into our Wollongong Private Hospital in the New Year. The new 151 bed hospital will offer a full range of medical, surgical and maternity services for people in the Illawarra, in a beautiful facility overlooking the Wollongong landscape and coastline.”
Medibank Executive General Manager of Provider Networks and Integrated Care, Dr Andrew Wilson said: "we have negotiated an agreement with Ramsay Health Care that is in the best interests of our members and patients. Our members in Wollongong and the broader South Coast region will now be able to access the new hospital with confidence and certainty about their care.”
The Wollongong Private Hospital is expected to commence operation from 18 January 2016.
