Medibank and ahm customers impacted by this bushfire season can contact us for support.
Support made available to customers in New South Wales and Queensland in November 2019 has now been extended to customers nationally.
Eligible customers have the option to waive their premiums for up to three months or suspend their policy for up to two years. Medibank and ahm customers who have held hospital cover for at least three months and are in a bushfire-impacted area may be eligible for this assistance.
Medibank customers can contact 132 331 and ahm customers can contact 134 246 for more information.
The Australian Medical Association has said the mental health burden of this disaster on our communities will be considerable. Medibank customers can also access the Medibank Mental Health Phone Support line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to discuss any mental health questions or concerns and get advice on what to do next. Medibank customers can call 1800 644 325.
In addition, we will continue to contribute $120,000 each year to support the work of the Red Cross including its training of volunteers, outreach programs and disaster relief and recovery.
Medibank Chief Customer Officer David Koczkar said: “The scale of loss across the country is heartbreaking and unprecedented. This bushfire season is having a devastating impact on the wellbeing and livelihoods of families, customers and communities with many facing an uncertain future. We encourage our customers to contact us for support.”
