Australia’s biggest private health insurer, Medibank, is the first insurer to sign an agreement with Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney, providing its members with certainty around their private cancer care.
Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is Australia’s first and only dedicated not-for-profit private cancer hospital and research centre to offer all cancer related services under one roof.
Recently, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse opened its new inpatient facilities containing 125 overnight beds, an intensive care unit and eight operating theatres, all using state of the art technology to provide world-class care to patients.
Lifehouse CEO Eileen Hannagan said: “We are thrilled to be a Medibank Members’ Choice Hospital and warmly welcome Medibank members who require our specialised range of services.
“When Medibank members are admitted to Lifehouse, they will have no or minimal out of pocket expenses for the services provided by Lifehouse.
“Chris O’Brien Lifehouse applies a multidisciplinary team approach to the treatment of patients in all tumour types. We have registered 104 clinical trials at Lifehouse over the last 15 months, giving patients access to treatments not currently available to most patients elsewhere. It is rare to find this level of academic cancer research and multidisciplinary clinical review in one place.”
