Medibank has established a Mental Health Reference Group, as part of its ongoing commitment to improve mental health in Australia.
The Medibank Mental Health Reference Group is a representative group of highly regarded and experienced multidisciplinary professionals. It has been developed to enable constructive, expert critique and guidance to key decision makers within Medibank who are working on delivering improved mental health services, products and programs to customers.
Medibank Chief Medical Officer and practicing psychiatrist Dr Andrew Wilson said the Mental Health Reference Group demonstrates Medibank’s genuine desire to create meaningful change in the mental health space.
“As one of Australia’s largest health companies, we see the human cost of the escalating mental health crisis and we want to play a meaningful part of the solution,” said Dr Wilson.
“We have a 2030 Vision to create the best health and wellbeing for Australia – and mental health plays a really important part of this vision.
“Mental health and illness are complex; there is no one-size-fits-all solution to this multi-faceted problem, which is why we have developed this reference group to provide us with a diverse perspective on mental health.”
The reference group will meet regularly throughout the year to provide advice and guidance on Medibank’s mental health services, products and programs.
