Updated Medibank stores in South-East Queensland have reopened today (9 August) after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Following the Queensland Government’s announcement of a snap lockdown from 4pm today, Medibank will temporarily shut 12 stores.

Stores in Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast will remain closed until further notice, in line with government restrictions.

Head of Retail Andrew Carlson said it’s important we all do our part to prevent the spread of the highly contagious COVID delta variant across Queensland.

“We will continue to respond quickly in this changing environment to protect our people, customers and the broader Queensland community,” Mr Carlson said.

“We encourage our customers to keep reaching out when they need us, with our retail teams able to support them through phone and digital channels during this period.

“We thank our customers for their patience while we all do our bit to keep the community safe.”

Impacted stores are: Brisbane City, Carindale, Chermside, Mt Gravatt Garden City, Indooroopilly, Ipswich, Pacific Fair, Southport, Robina, Sunshine Plaza (Maroochydore), Northlakes, Sunnybank.

While South-East Queensland retail stores will be closed until at least Tuesday, customers needing support can find a range of resources at medibank.com.au, in their My Medibank app, or by calling 132 331.
