Medibank temporarily closes stores in Victoria

17 February update: Medibank will tomorrow reopen its stores in Victoria following the lifting of some COVID-19 restrictions.

Medibank stores across Victoria will shut from close of business today until at least Wednesday following the Victorian Government’s announcement of a 5-day stage 4 lockdown, beginning tonight.

The decision follows the Victorian Premier’s stay-at-home order, as a result of an increase in COVID-19 cases.

Medibank Chief Customer Officer David Koczkar said closing stores is necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of our people, customers and the broader community.

“We know that our people and customers have enjoyed being back in-store and having face-to-face conversations, so the increase in cases in Victoria is very disappointing for everyone.

“I am proud of how our people have transitioned from in-store to remote working over the past 12 months, while continuing to help our customers navigate this challenging time.

“We thank our Victorian customers for their patience during this time and look forward to welcoming them back in store soon,” Mr Koczkar said.

Our people will continue to support customers through our digital channels and phone and messaging services while working from home.

Customers needing support can find a range of resources at medibank.com.au, in their My Medibank app, or access agent support through web messaging or by calling 132 331.

Customers can also visit the website or My Medibank app to check their local store hours.
