Medibank is stepping up its support of Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine roll out by rewarding customers for getting the jab.
Eligible customers who are fully vaccinated will receive 1,000 Live Better Rewards points from early next month, by logging the activity in the Live Better Rewards app.
Live Better points can be used by eligible Medibank customers towards gift cards or products from partners including Adidas, Amcal, Apple, Brooks, Fitbit and Onsport. Customers can also choose rewards including saving on their health cover or getting more on their extras like a remedial massage. Customers who are fully vaccinated will be rewarded with Live Better points to the equivalent value of a $10 Amcal gift card.
Medibank Chief Executive Officer David Koczkar said getting vaccinated not only keeps ourselves safe but also our family, friends and the broader community we live and work in.
“With millions of Australians currently under stay at home orders due to the latest outbreak of COVID-19, it’s clear that getting vaccinated is one of the keys to minimising the need for future lockdowns,” Mr Koczkar said.
“It’s been an incredibly tough 18 months in Australia and the personal and economic toll of this pandemic is heartbreaking.
“That’s why I would encourage all Australians eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine to join me in getting the jab.”
Mr Koczkar said the medical experts say the vaccine plays a vital role in preventing serious illness and loss of life from the virus across the country.
“As one of Australia’s biggest health insurers, we have a unique opportunity to reach more than 3.7 million customers and remind them about the importance of getting vaccinated, with an ability to reach significantly more Australians through our corporate and university partnerships,” he said.
“We’re doing our part by continuing to send out information to customers and encouraging them to get the vaccine when they are eligible.”
In a further show of support, team members at Medibank’s retail stores have the option to show their support in a public way by wearing a #jabdone badge.
Medibank is also providing employees with paid community leave and charity gift vouchers for getting the jab.
Vaccination must be undertaken on the advice of a health practitioner.
