Supporting small businesses through Live Better at Home

Medibank is providing small businesses and community organisations in the health and wellbeing space with an online platform to showcase their expertise and talents nationally, as part of an expansion of the Live Better at Home program.
In response to social distancing and self-isolation, Medibank launched a free online program of workout videos, cooking demonstrations and guided meditations last month for people to do from the comfort of their own home. In the first four weeks of the program, we’ve had more than 82,000 views of our content with stretching guides and Pilates the most popular.
Medibank Chief Customer Officer David Koczkar said the next phase of the program is about supporting small business and community organisations that have been disrupted by coronavirus (COVID-19).
“Small businesses in the health and wellbeing space play an incredibly important role in their local communities, inspiring people to stay fit, eat healthy and take time for yoga, Pilates and mindfulness.
“We want to give back by providing a platform where they can share their passion, skills and content with a new and broader audience,” he said.
Medibank is calling for nominations from businesses that are offering Australians a new way to achieve their health goals at home, such as a yoga studio sharing online workouts or a book store leading a children’s story time.
The selected businesses will be invited to share their program through Live Better at Home by creating an online video that will be showcased across Medibank’s social media channels and to its 3.7 million customers.
“We welcome nominations for any businesses that are continuing to support the health and wellbeing of Australians, whether it’s an online dance class or virtual music lessons for kids,” Mr Koczkar said.
“With a broader range of activities and initiatives from businesses across the country, Live Better at Home will continue to help all Australians keep up a balanced lifestyle at home.”
To nominate an eat, move or feel based business head to www.medibank.com.au/livebetterathome/champions. Nominations close on 28 April 2020.
