For recognition with Medibank, you must be registered with Medicare Australia. Medicare Australia notifies us of provider numbers issued on a daily basis which are automatically updated in our system.  See more information on Medicare Australia’s registration criteria.

As an ancillary health care provider, Medibank expect providers to meet the recognition criteria and standards as listed below: 

The mandatory inclusion of the applicable FDI World Dental Federation Two-digit Tooth Identification number(s) on all invoices and patient records became effective from 15 June 2018.

** The Medibank Fund Rules states that benefits will only be paid towards dental and Orthodontic treatments that are administered in person, and by a recognised provider. An example of an Orthodontic service and treatment that must be provided in person (and not via phone or online) by a recognised provider, is clear aligners.
