How to make a compensation (third party) claim
If you have a patient who has sustained an injury or illness caused by third party negligence, it may be appropriate for that third party to cover the cost of required medical treatment, rather than Medibank.
Please email the Medibank Compensation team at compensation@medibank.com.au with the below information, and a member of our team will be in touch to confirm the next steps.
- Member name
- Policy Number
- Provider telephone number
- Provider email address
- Date of injury / diagnosis
- Nature of the injury (e.g. shoulder, whiplash, PTSD, etc.)
- Type of compensation claim: (Motor Vehicle, Workers Compensation, Public Liability, etc.)
- Third Party Insurer name
- Third Party claim number
- Third Party contact details (if known)
If a patient advises you that they have a compensation claim, please download our Compensation Questionnaire for them to complete and send to compensation@medibank.com.au.
A member of our team will be in contact with them to confirm the next steps.
