Official Health Partner and proud supporter of the AFLW.
The AFLW loves a goal. So do we.
Everybody deserves the chance to realise their full potential. That’s why we’ve joined forces with the AFLW as an Official Health Partner, to help tackle the health barriers facing women in sport one at a time.
Health concerns are just one of the reasons girls in Australia drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys, with age 15 being the peak age for girls dropping out of sport.1 Our women’s health series aims to educate girls to help them play on safely.
Gender inequality in medical research leads to poorer health outcomes for women, so we’re supporting research into female, women’s and girls’ sports injuries in partnership with the AFLW and La Trobe University through the Medibank Better Health Foundation.
We want to be the biggest cheerleaders of the incredible superhumans at the AFLW, so that the 60% of girls in Australia who say they don’t currently have a female sportsperson that they look up to can’t say that anymore.2
On 3 February 2017, Collingwood Football Club (FC) and Carlton FC played the first premiership game of the Australian Football League Women’s (AFLW) competition at Ikon Park in Melbourne, Victoria.
Since that historic day, the AFLW has sought to become the most accessible, inclusive and visible sport in Australia, and the number one sporting choice for girls and women.
The 2024 NAB AFLW premiership season kicks off on Friday 30 August. Visit the AFLW to find a game near you.
