It takes all types to run a marathon, and we saw them all in Perth on Sunday 30 August at the Chevron City to Surf for Activ. Nearly 40,000 people got involved, running in the marathon, half-marathon, 12km and 4km events – all helping to raise funds to support Australians living with disability.
The Chevron City to Surf for Activ is now one of the largest mass participation running events in the southern hemisphere. And with its spectacular scenery, winding through the city, Swan River, Kings Park Botanical Gardens and serene beaches, the race is renowned as one of the most beautiful marathon courses in the world.
Congratulations to the marathon winners, Yuki Kawauchi and Magda Karimalipoulos – and to everyone who got out there and gave it a go. Your effort goes towards an excellent cause, helping to improve the lives of many Australians and their families.
“All monies raised for Activ goes directly to enabling people living with disability to pursue a better life and we thank the WA community for supporting the City to Surf over the past 41 years,” said Tony Vis, CEO of the Activ Foundation.
Medibank is proud to sponsor the Chevron City to Surf for Activ. Check out more photos from the day on our Facebook page.
