3 ways to get more from your health cover before 2025

From our latest give back payments to our newest Live Better rewards partner, here’s how you can get more from your Medibank membership before the end of 2024.

The end of the year is fast approaching. For eligible Medibank members, that means it’s time to check in on a few ways to get more value from your health cover – just in time for the festive season.

Did you get your cashback payment?

Eligible* members will by now have received a payment from the latest round of Medibank’s give back program. The program was set up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that any savings from the pandemic were returned to Medibank customers.

In the latest round of give back payments, eligible* Medibank members will have received a minimum cash back of $100 per policy. Some members received up to $360. This cash back amount is based on the type of cover members have held and the period of time they were a member on that policy.

Not sure if you’ve received your payment yet? You can check the bank account  we pay your claims to, or the account your Medibank premiums are usually paid from. Give back payments were made between 4 and 30 September 2024.

Medibank members appear to have welcomed the latest round of the give back program.

“Thank you so much for giving back. It is very much appreciated and needed,” said one Medibank customer.

“That will really help with everything,” said another.  

The latest round of give back payments of $305 million brings Medibank’s total Covid-19 support package to $1.46 billion since 2020. How will you spend yours?

Have you been saving up your Live Better rewards points from your healthy actions this year? Or do you still need more points to redeem a reward that you’ve set your sights on? Eligible^ Medibank members with hospital and/or extras cover will be happy to know that they can now earn Live Better rewards points when they reserve accommodation with Booking.com – just in time for summer.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Visit our Live Better rewards Booking.com partner page.  
  2. Click through to the dedicated Booking.com – Live Better rewards website.
  3. When you make a reservation, provide your 8 digit Medibank membership number and the email address registered with your policy.
  4. Complete your stay and earn 2,000 Live Better rewards points.#

Plus, book before 27 January 2025 and you’ll earn an extra 500 points when you complete your stay.That’s $25 worth of value you can redeem on rewards.

Offer not available on bookings made through the Booking.com mobile app or on car rental, flights or non-accommodation bookings. Must be 18+ years to make a booking and earn points.

Where will your next booking take you? 

Use your extras before your annual limits reset    

Need a new pair of prescription glasses? Overdue for your 6-monthly dental check-up? For Medibank members with extras cover, don’t forget to use up your annual limits before the end of the year.

For most extras services, annual limits reset on 1 January. Unused annual limits don’t carry over.

You can check what’s included in your extras cover and check your remaining limits using My Medibank.

Booking.com Live Better points: Eligible Live Better rewards members will earn 2,000 Live Better rewards points on completed eligible accommodation (“stay”) bookings purchased only by following the links to the Booking.com website from the Medibank Live Better rewards website. Eligible accommodation bookings will be identified as being eligible for this offer on the Booking.com website. Offer unavailable on bookings made through the Booking.com mobile app or on car rental, flights and non-accommodation bookings. If the stay is eligible, the points amount will be shown on the booking confirmation screen, and in the confirmation email after your purchase.
